Paying your Childcare Fees at Banana Moon Bromley – Funding update April 2024

Paying your Childcare Fees at Banana Moon Bromley – Funding update April 2024

Paying for nursery fees at Banana Moon Bromley

We are open for 51 weeks per year, closing for all Bank Holidays and for the week between Christmas and New Year.

Invoices are calculated based on your child’s weekly attendance pattern x 51 weeks per year divided by 12 months, so your monthly invoice is the same each month. The only time this will change is if you book extra sessions, change days or start to receive funding.

When in receipt of 2, 3 or 4 year old Government funding, the system will invoice you based on actual sessions in the month, this will allow your child’s funding to be deducted in line with attendance each month.

We accept payments made by the Government’s Tax Free Childcare Scheme (replacing Childcare vouchers). This scheme allows you to save up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children. To find out more and to register for the scheme, please visit:

We also accept workplace childcare vouchers and salary sacrifice schemes, such as:

·       Enjoy Benefits
·       EdenRed
·       Pluxee

Early Years Entitlements

Some children may be eligible for a maximum of 15 hours per week throughout the school year, which spans 38 weeks. However, at Banana Moon Bromley we distribute the 570 hours over 51 weeks.  For those eligible for 30 hours, this is also stretched over the 51 weeks that we are open.

If your child is eligible for the working families funding for 2 year olds, or the 30-hour funding for 3 and 4 year olds you will be required to obtain and regularly update a funding code through the online portal, you must reconfirm your child’s code every three months, and if you fall out of eligibility or fail to re-confirm your code then funding will cease and full fees will be payable, or your child’s attending hours may be reduced. More information can be found on the Childcare Choices Website: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

As detailed on the childcare choice’s website: “These childcare offers are not intended to cover the costs of meals, other consumables (such as nappies or sun cream), additional hours or additional activities (such as trips). Providers may charge a fee for these additions.”

For all funding streams, we will require parents to sign the local authority funding form which is known as a Parental Declaration Form. We will need to see proof of address and ID for parents, as well as a birth certificate for the children. Data collected within these forms will be kept secure on the nursery premises and details will only be used to complete and obtain the relevant funding when required. Data will be shared with the local authority in order for the nursery to be able to claim funding for your child. This information is shared via a secure portal.

We will validate the code using the local authority’s Eligibility Checker before a start date for the additional funding is agreed with the parent, preferably the term before funding will start. This is to make sure that the code is within the correct dates for funding for that term. You will need to check your code’s expiry date to ensure that you remain eligible.

Bromley 2-Year-old funding entitlement (Together 4 Two’s – 15 hours)

Your child may be entitled to the 2-year funding entitlement hours from the term after their 2nd birthday. This entitlement is based on meeting eligibility criteria. To check your eligibility and apply, visit the Bromley website: https://www.bromley.gov.uk/education-learning/funded-early-education-childcare-two-year-olds (Please note, this is different to the 2 year old working families funding).

Children who have met the criteria, will maintain their eligibility up until the point when your child becomes eligible for the 3 & 4-year-old universal entitlement, the term following their third birthday.

2-Year-old funding entitlement (Working Parents – 15 hours)

Some working families may be eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare, which we stretch over 51 weeks of the year. Your child can receive funding the term after their second birthday, or if they have received a valid eligibility code, whichever is later in the funding year. You can check your eligibility here: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/. Your funding code and eligibility must be reconfirmed every 3 months.

Please note, the funding for working parents will be extended to babies from 9 months old, from September 2024 and all the same conditions will apply.

3 & 4 Year old (Universal Entitlement – 15 hours)

All 3 & 4-year-olds are entitled to the 15 hours Universal Entitlement the term following their third birthday offering 570 hours of care and education per year.  This code does not need to be reconfirmed.

3 & 4-year-olds Extended Entitlement (Working parents - 30 hours)

Your child may be entitled to the 15 hours Extended Entitlement funding giving them a total of 30 hours of funding (an additional 570 hours of funding per year), from the term after their third birthday or the term after the 30-hour code validity start date, whichever is the latest.  Once you have received confirmation of eligibility for the Extended Entitlement, you will be issued with a 30-hour code, which you must send to us.

If you require further assistance on the Extended Entitlement, please call the Customer Interaction Centre at HMRC on 0300 123 4097.
