Celebrating World Mental Health Day at Banana Moon Bromley

On 10th October, we embraced World Mental Health Day with dedicated events for both parents and staff, reflecting our commitment to community well-being.

World Mental Health Day gave us a wonderful opportunity to prioritise mental health across our nursery community, from parents to early years professionals. Last year's event saw over 260,000 people nationwide participate in similar gatherings, highlighting the importance of having open conversations about mental health.

At Banana Moon Bromley, we began the day with a Tea & Talk session, inviting parents to drop in, enjoy a cup of tea, and connect with each other. The relaxed environment encouraged meaningful conversations, helping to foster a sense of togetherness and mutual support.

Later in the day, our early years professionals took time out to participate in mindful painting, working together to create a shared canvas of artwork that symbolises our commitment to well-being. The session provided an opportunity for staff to focus on their own mental health while strengthening team bonds.

The directors also shared a thank you gift to recognise all their hard work and dedication in making Banana Moon a nurturing and special place.

These activities align with our ELDP Wellbeing Pledge, which aims to create a holistic approach to supporting well-being for everyone in our nursery. We understand that mental health is essential for providing the best care to children, and our approach extends beyond the children we care for, ensuring that families and staff receive the support they need.

At Banana Moon Bromley, we are committed to making well-being a priority for the whole nursery community. Together, we will continue to create a positive and inclusive environment that supports everyone’s mental health, every day of the year.
